On Wednesday, the government of Rajasthan has issued an order to withdraw the circular of December 2017, in which the previous BJP government in Rajasthan had directed all the departments, corporations, boards and self-governance organizations to put a picture of Deendayal Upadhyay as a logo in the letter pads.

The newly-elected Congress government in Rajasthan, last week in its first Cabinet meet had decided to remove the picture of Deendayal Upadhyay from the letter pads, state printing, and the Stationary department issued the orders to that effect on Wednesday. Additional Chief Secretary Ravi Shankar Srivastava said in the order that “the decision has been taken by the cabinet to remove the photo of Deendayal Upadhyay.”

In compliance with the decision taken by the Cabinet, Mr. Srivastava also ordered to withdraw the December 11, 2017 circular, in which the previous BJP government led by then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had issued the order to insert the picture of Deendayal Upadhyay, a co-founder of BJP and RSS ideologue, in the letter pads.
