Rahul Gandhi speaking in “Pakistan’s language” on Rafale fighter jets deal, says BJP leader - TNBCLive

On Wednesday, BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijaywargiya has accused the Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi of speaking in “Pakistani’s language” and seeking information in the Rafale fighter jets deal that the neighbouring country wants.

During a BJP event, Mr. Vijaywargiya said that “Why Rahul is asking the questions to the Centre on the issue of Rafale deal whose answers Pakistan wants to know? Why you (Rahul) appear to be standing with the enemy country?”

He continued, “In the lust for power, why are you speaking the language of Pakistan.”

“In the Rafale issue, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Rahul should be ashamed, but now he is demanding that a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) be constituted to probe the deal,” added Mr. Vijaywargiya.

Last week, the Supreme Court has dismissed petitions seeking for an investigation into the accused irregularities in the Rafale fighter jets purchasing deal.

He further said that “if Rahul has guts, he should debate it in the Lok Sabha. But the Congress is creating a ruckus in the lower house and disrupting its proceedings.”

Earlier, BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijaywargiya also claimed that during the victory processions of the Congress in the Assembly elections, slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” were raised.

He further alleged that “whenever Congress wins and the party takes out a victory procession, people shout Pakistan Zindabad, but Congressmen remain silent on this.”

However, Congress spokesman of Madhya Pradesh, Neelabh Shukla has termed statement of Mr. Vijaywargiya as highly-objectionable.

Mr. Shukla said, “It is a very irresponsible statement. He should come out with evidence, or apologize publicly for making a false allegation.”

BJP tried to polarise voters and disrupted the communal harmony in the recently concluded Assembly Elections but people voted for Congress, added Mr. Vijaywargiya.
