Today, Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi said if his party comes to power in the state in 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, a criminal probe will be introduced into the Rafale fighter jets deal and convict will be punished.
Addressing the source outside the Parliament before the government’s reply, Mr. Gandhi has urged Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to reply to the questions raised by Congress over multi-million dollar fighter jets deal.
The Congress Chief told the source that “We and the entire opposition want that when defence minister speaks on the PM’s behalf, the questions raised by us should be answered.”
Mr. Gandhi further asked Ms. Sitharaman whether any objections were raised on the Rafale fighter jets contract file by the Defence Ministry and the negotiating team.
He further alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi of running away from the debate and said that the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley should reply to questions, which were raised by Congress instead of only abusing the Congress Chief.
