Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive at Pathanamthitta in Kerala on January 6, to commence the forthcoming 2019 Lok Sabha Election campaign, reports a senior BJP leader on Thursday.

PM Modi will arrive in Pathanamthitta- the district where the Sabarimala temple is situated is considered to be a deft political move.

While speaking to media in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala BJP Chief PS Sreedharan Pillai said that PM Modi will arrive in Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Pillai said that “this is his visit as part of the election campaign, and he flies to Pathanamthitta from Guntur.”

BJP has only one legislator in 140-members Kerala Assembly. The party is hopeful of putting up a good show in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

The best performance they have put up in Kerala was in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections when they have finished second in the Thiruvananthapuram seat. Kerala in total has 20 Lok Sabha seats.

Sabarimala has witnessed protests since September 28, the Supreme Court verdict that allowed women of all ages to enter the Lord Ayyappa shrine that hitherto restricted girls and women aged between 10 and 50-years.
