Two days after the local court has rejected his bail in a case related to the violent protest at Sabarimala row, Rahul Easwar, leader of Ayyappa Dharma Sena, was detained by Police on Monday.
From a resting house, Mr. Easwar was taken into custody by a team of policemen, recorded his arrest and them took him to Pathanamthitta’s Ranni for producing his before the court, added the Police department.
He has to lead the protest against the implementation of the Verdict of the Supreme Court, which gave permission to women of any age group to enter into Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala, were here to take part in a programme, added the party source.
Soon after he was put into custody, Mr. Easwar told the source that he had not disobeyed any bail conditions. He claims that he has visited Palakkad to attend a program, which was organized by Hindu Mahasabha.
In Pathanamthitta district, a local court at Ranni had canceled the bail granted to the Ayyappa Dharma Sena Chief on December 15 and ordered Police to re-arrest him for disobeying bail condition. Mr. Easwar was out on bail in the case related to violence at Lord Ayyappa shrine when on October 17, the temple was opened for monthly ‘pooja’.
On the ground of reporting to Pathanamthitta Police Station every Saturday, he was granted bail, but he failed to appear on December 8, reports Pathanamthitta Police.
Earlier, Rahul Easwar was arrested from Pamba following a violent protest at Sabarimala row.
