Today, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has filed his nomination from Nagpur Lok Sabha seat, where Elections are about to start from April 11.
In 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Mr. Gadkari had defeated Vilas Muttemwar (Congress) by a margin of 2.84 lakh voters, claims to win with a bigger margin in the forthcoming Election.
He told sources that “this time, I will win with a bigger margin. People have a good opinion of the work done by the Narendra Modi-led government in the last five years. Our government did more than (was promised in) the poll manifesto.”
Mr. Gadkari was accompanied by Energy Minister Chandrashekar Bawankule, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, his family members, and a large number of party workers, while he was filing the nomination.
“Your support and love is the biggest strength for us,” added Mr. Gadkari.
The Delhi Chief Minister continued that Mr. Gadkari will also register a “historic win”.
CM Fadnavis further said that the Union Minister will register a “historic win” from Nagpur. “He will create a record in Maharashtra,” said CM Fadnavis, adding that BJP-Shiv Sena combine would win 45-seats out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
Sena’s Krupal Tumane, sitting Member of Parliament from Ramtek (SC) seat, filed the nomination from Ramtek seat. Congress’ Nana Patole will also take on Mr. Gadkari in Nagpur, and ex-IAS Officer Kishor Gajbhiye, rutted against Tumane from Ramtek, are likely to file nominations later today.
