An Odisha man was tied to an electricity pole and beaten up by an angry crowd on suspicion that he has stolen a goat, reports source.

The uneven incident took place on Wednesday in Mayurbhanj district of Baripada town.

As per the report of an eyewitness, the accused was first beaten up and then was handed over to the state police.

One of the eyewitnesses said that “I saw that some people were beating up a man after tying him to an electric pole. I was told that he was trying to steal a cycle. Sometime later the police came and took him away.”

The Odisha Police has already started the investigation in the case.
