Early in the morning, the National Highway 3 between Leh and Manali was restricted for traffic movement, near Rohtang Pass, after a landslide triggered by continuous rains in the region.

An oil tanker moving on the National Highway 3 got stuck under a boulder, followed by the unexpected landslide.

The road is likely to be clear within a few hours.

On August 7, the highway was restricted at Marhi after heavy rainfall in the region.

The situation may further deteriorate as the IMD (Indian Meteorological Department ) has forecast heavy downpours in isolated places for the next few days in Himachal Pradesh.

More details are awaited.
