Congress leaders from Gwalior have proposed the name of party’s General Secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia’s wife, Priyadarshini Raje Scindia, as a contestant from Gwalior Lok Sabha seat.
Madhya Pradesh Minister Lakhan Singh told sources that “our Congress leaders from Gwalior’s urban and rural committees together have passed the proposal to field Priyadarshini Raje Scindia from Gwalior Lok Sabha seat.”
Now, the proposal will be sent to Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, for his approval.
Ashok Singh, who has been representing Congress from Gwalior Seat for consecutive three times in the past elections, was not present at the Congress Committee Meeting.
In Madhya Pradesh, elections will take place on April 29, May 6, May 12, and May 19. And the outcome will be declared on May 23.
