In Arunachal Pradesh, the District Electoral Office of Kurung Kumey district has ordered for a probe against a BJP candidate and his supporters for reportedly assaulting a magistrate, who was on his duty.

On Saturday, a notification was issued to Santosh Kumar Rai, asked for a magisterial inquiry into “physical assault” of Jill Gyamar, who was on his election duty near Leel Village, the area falls under Sangram circle of Kurung Kumey district.

The order has been issued against the BJP candidate Lokam Tassar, his supporters, and personal security officer, who had reportedly attacked the magistrate last week in the presence of the district magistrate and the circle officer, reports an official.  

Investigation shall be conducted by Sangram SDO Otem Jamoh and required to submit to the DEO by tomorrow, reads the order.
