Indias first engineless train Vande Bharat Express is set to be flagged off by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15 from the New Delhi Railway station, said a senior officer of the ministry.

The actual name of the train was Train 18 which has recently given the name Vande Bharat Express by Piyush Goyal, the Railway Minister. The Integral Coach Factory is the manufacturer of the train. The train had a trial on a section of the Delhi-Rajdhani route and the speed of the train was over 180 kmph which declared it as India’s fastest train.

According to the officials, “The PM will flag off the train at 10 am on February 15 and there will be a function in which he will give a speech as well. It’s a matter of great pride for us as this is the Railways’ first indigenous train.”

Some of the other features of the train are that the train comprises 16 coaches and it is going to replace the 30-years-old Shatabdi Express. Vande Bharat Express will run between Delhi and Varanasi.
