In Jharkhand, IIT Scholar committed Suicide

Today, an IIT-ISM research scholar in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand committed suicide, reports Police.

The suicidal victim named Ranjan Rathi, who is resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad District. Mr. Rathi was pursuing Ph.D. from the mechanical engineering department.

According to Jharkhand Police report, he was alone in the hostel premises while his roommate was away, he then committed the incident.

When Mr. Rathi did not respond to his roommate’s calls, other mates of him were asked to get him over the phone.

The door of his door was broken to open early morning today and his dead body was found hanging from the hostel room’s ceiling fan, reports the State Police.

An investigation to discover the motive behind such suicide is undergoing.
