External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that India cannot have talks with Pakistan unless they take any effective steps against terror outfits on its soil. On Wednesday, while speaking at a press conference in Delhi, Ms. Swaraj hits out at Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan and claims, “Some people say Imran Khan is a Statesman, if he is so generous then he should hand over JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammed) Chief Masood Azhar to India. Let’s see how generous he is”.

The Union Minister continued, “we are ready to engage with Pakistan in an atmosphere free from terror…talks and terror cannot go together.”

Questioning Pakistan’s revenge to IAF air strikes in Balakot, Ms. Swaraj said that India had specifically targeted JeM but “Why did the Pakistani military attack us on behalf of JeM?”

Targeting Pakistan government, Ms. Swaraj further said that “You not only keep JeM on your soil, but fund them and when the victim country retaliates, you attack it on the terror outfit’s behalf,” adding that it requires to control ISI and its army, who want to “destroy the bilateral relations” time and again.

While speaking about the deadly terror attack in Pulwama, which took lives of over 40 CRPF jawans, Ms. Swaraj said that “I used to receive calls from foreign ministers, who would first condole the Pulwama attack, then express their solidarity and softly say that we think India will not escalate the situation.”

While replying to Foreign Ministers, the External Affairs Minister said that she would further assure them that “India will not escalate the situation but if there is any other terror attack then we will not remain silent as we cannot say Pulwama as our destiny.”

Tensions increased between India and Pakistan after Indian Army Fighter jets bombed and destroyed JeM’s biggest terrorist training camps across the LoC at Balakot on February 26.
