Hitesh Patel, alleged in a case related to Rs. 8100 crore bank loan fraud by Sterling Biotech group, has been arrested in Albania on the basis of an Interpol notice. It was issued by the Enforcement Directorate, added the officials.

On March 20, they also complain that Hitesh Narendra Bhai Patel was apprehended by the officials of law enforcement of Albania in Tirana

He continued, “Patel is an accused in the case and is the brother-in-law of the main accused in the case, the Sandesara brothers (Nitin and Chetan Sandesara). He is expected to be extradited to India soon.”

The ED had further ensured an Interpol red corner notice against Mr. Patel on March 11.

They informed that he was instrumental in seeking dummy directors for shell companies, which were used by Sandesaras.
