On Monday, a senior BJP legislator Gulab Chand Kataria takes oath as the Pro-Tem Speaker of the Rajasthan legislative assembly.

Governor Kalyan Singh administered his oath-taking ceremony in Jaipur at the Raj Bhawan.

However, Speaker Kailash Meghwal has skipped the ceremony, but was attended by Rajasthan newly-elected Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, BJP MLA Rajendra Rathore, Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, members of the Council of Ministers and others as well.

Mr. Kataria as the Pro-Tem Speaker will conduct the first meeting of the Rajasthan’s newly-elected assembly. He will also be the leader of opposition while Rajendra Rathore will be his Deputy in the assembly.

The first session of the Rajasthan assembly to begin from tomorrow, January 15.
