On Thursday, four BSP soldiers were shot dead in an encounter with Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker, reports police. The gunbattle started when Maoists opened sudden fire on the BSF jawans, when they were on a search operation.

Two other BSF jawans were also injured in the gunfight, which took place in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, located 35 km away from Pankharjur, said police, adding that the fight went on for more than 3 hours.
