Today, Indore was determined as India’s ‘cleanest city’ for the third consecutive year in the cleanliness survey conducted by the Central Government.

2019 Swachh Survekshan Award was conferred by President Ram Nath Kovind at an event in New Delhi.

While the New Delhi Municipal Council area was offered the “Cleanest Small City” Award, Gauchar in Uttarakhand was adjudged the “Best Ganga Town” in the survey of Central Government.

The cleanliness awards are offered by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Union Housing Minister Hardeep Singh Puri congratulated Indore, tweeted: “Absolutely Brilliant! Indore is India’s Cleanest City for the 3rd year running. My heartiest congratulations to the Swachhagraha of Indore for their unmatched dedication & participation in transforming Swachh Bharat into a Jan Andolan.”
