Coronavirus update: Rajasthan government seals its borders amid rising infections - TNBCLive

The continuous rise of COVID-19 cases has compelled the Rajasthan government to seal its border to combat the spread of the deadly virus. In its regulation the government said that people who passed can go enter or leave the state. Rajasthan’s border with Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana have been sealed.

Director General of Police ML Lather said in a directive that all movement to and from the state will be regulated and no one can enter the state without the permission or NOC from the state. This will also be applicable while leaving Rajasthan which has recorded a total 11300 cases with 256 deaths.

 Last week, all the states eased the lockdown last week in their own ways after the centre presented its “Unlock1” plan to restart the economy amid the pandemic. Check posts will be set up along the state borders, railway station and airports of Rajasthan to handle the situation, said Rajasthan police. 

This morning, India recorded fresh 9,985 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total number of infections to 2,76,583. A total of 1,35,206 patients have recovered so far. The number of deaths standing at 7,745 and in the last 24 hours a total 279 patients have died. India is presently ranking at the fifth position in the world in terms of coronavirus cases, after the US, Brazil, Russia and the UK.
