Congress in its manifesto, has promised probe into the alleged irregularities in the Rafale fighter jets deal, reports a member of the manifesto committed on Tuesday.
The grand old party’s manifesto committee member Bhalchandra Mungekar told sources, “We will initiate an inquiry into Rafale deal on the first day after coming to power and we have included this in the manifesto.”
Mr. Mungekar said that the poll documents of Congress has been named as “People’s Manifesto”, released on Tuesday by Congress National Chief Rahul Gandhi.
“We have vowed to take all steps needed to undo the damage done to the country by the Modi government in the last five years and bring in ‘achhe din’ in real means,” he added.
The big-ticket promise in the party’s manifesto are NYAY, the minimum income guarantee scheme for 20 percent of the country’s poorest families, which already has been introduced by Mr. Gandhi.
To focus on the new scheme, Congress has coined a new slogan of “Gareeb Parivar, Bahattar Hazzar.”
India will vote in seven rounds, begin from April 11 to May 19 and the results will be declared on May 23.
