On Tuesday, All India Congress Committee (AICC) has announced one more candidate for Uttar Pradesh, and two more candidates for Gujarat for April-May General Elections.

The AICC came out with the list of three candidates, of which two are for Gujarat- Navsari, and Kutch.

Sanjay Kapoor has been nominated from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur. BJP has fielded actress Jaya Prada from Rampur and Samajwadi Party has nominated a senior leader Azam Khan.

AICC has trusted experienced political leader Naresh Maheshwari from Kutch- a seat reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC). BJP has nominated a sitting legislator Vinod Chavda for Kutch as well.  

Naresh Maheshwari is a resident of Madhapur, a town that is close to the main city of Kutch. He has been with the grand old party for long, and contested in polls at all levels of government, including block and State Assembly.

In South Gujarat, Dharmesh Patel has been field for Navsari seat. Mr. Patel will contest against BJP’s C.R. Patil. Elections in Gujarat is primarily taking place between two major parties, BJP and Congress.

Earlier, Congress had declared candidates for Anand, Ahmedabad West, Chhota Udaipur, and Vadodara seats for 2019 Lok Sabha Elections and the results will be declared on May 23.
