On Tuesday, a train mishap happened, when coaches of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express got detached from each other near Odisha’s Cuttack on Kathjodi River Bridge.

No casualties or injuries took place in the accident, reports an official of ECoR (East Coast Railway).

Soon after leaving Odisha Bhubaneswar Railway Station at 9:30 am, suddenly the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express came to a halt on the bridge arouse panic among the passengers onboard.

A senior officer from coach maintenance of Bhubaneswar has depot thorough checking of the coaches at the Cuttack Railway Station, he informed.

The affected coaches of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express are B/3 and B/4, which were joined soon and the train has resumed its onward journey.

An investigation team has been formed to inquired over the issue and it has to submit the report within 48-hours, he said.

An official continued that “the reason will be known in a day or two. Responsibility will be fixed after that.”
