On Saturday, CBI has filed a chargesheet against a Congress leader Motilal Vora and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in connection with the accused irregularities in the re-allotment of an institutional land in Haryana’s Panchkula to the AJL (Associated Journals Limited).
The charge sheet was filed by the CBI in a special court, accused that the re-allotment of the land C-17, led to a loss of Rs. 67 lakh for the exchequer.
Mr. Hooda was the Chairperson of the state Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and Mr. Vora of AJL. Both the accused have been charged under the IPC sections that deal with criminal conspiracy and under some provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
CBI in the chargesheet has accused that AJL was allotted a plot in 1982 in Panchkula, on which no consecution happened till 1992. Following which, HUDA had taken back the land.
The chargesheet filed by CBI alleged that the same plot of land was re-allotted by Mr. Hooda to AJL at its original rates in 2005, which is the violation of rules.
