Today morning, Andaman and Nicobar were hit by nine medium intensity earthquakes with a magnitude ranging from 47 to 5.2. According to the National Centre of Seismology, the earthquake occurred all in a span of two hours.
In the early morning on Monday, at 5.14 AM the first jerking was felt which was of a 4.9 magnitude and just after the first one, within a couple of minutes another jolt occurred with a magnitude of 5.
As per sources, the last jerking was recorded at 6.54 AM with a magnitude of 5.2. The Andaman and Nicobar archipelago is earthquake prone. In the Andaman and Nicobar, it is quite common to witness more than two-three quakes a day.
