Activist of Anti-corruption, Agnes Kharshiing attacked in Meghalaya

On Thursday afternoon, Meghalaya’s noted anti-corruption and women right activist, Agnes Kharshiing was brutally attacked by unknown persons in East Jaintia Hills. The place she was attacked is located 120 km away from the state capital of Shillong.

Agnes Kharshiing has received severe head wounds in the brutal attack.

She has been constantly raising her voice against the rampant coal smuggling in the Jaintia Hills areas for the last few years.

According to the report of Police source, they suspect that group of coal mafias are behind the attack on Agnes Kharshiing.
