Two terrorists were shot dead and four soldiers severely injured in an ongoing encounter, which took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district in Nowgam area between security forces and terrorists.

Around three terrorists are believed to be trapped inside the residential building in Nowgam area, reports source.

Today early in the morning, security forces has introduced a cordon and search operation in Nowgam area, which follows information about the militant presence in the area, informed a police official.

The police officer continued that two terrorists died in the ongoing encounter but their identity and affiliation are yet to be ascertained.

For now, the firing has stopped but search operations are underway at the sectors, aimed to sanitize the area.

On Thursday, three militants belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen were shot dead in a gunfight with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
