On Monday, two modules of terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) busted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district in which 10 convicts were arrested and a huge quantity of incriminating material was recovered, reports Police.
A spokesman of Police said that a SIT (Special Investigation Team) was constituted to investigate the surge in attacks by a terrorist in Tral, in which civilians and security forces were targeted and created an atmosphere of fear and panic in the area.
The spokesman continued, “Police in south Kashmir busted two terror modules of proscribed terror outfit JeM and arrested 10 of its associates in Tral area of Awantipora and Khrew area of Pampore.”
On the basis of material evidence collected, four convicts were identified as Hafoo Nigeenpora, a resident of Reshipora Fayaz Ahmad Wani, a resident of Pinglish Younis Nabi Naik, a resident of Nigeenpora Riyaz Ahmad Ganaie was taken into custody.
An investigation into the cases reveals that their complicity in the attacks was carried out in the Trail area of South Kashmir, added the spokesman.
He confirmed that another module was busted in Khrew area of Pampore, in which six associates of JeM identifies as Yasir Bashir Wani, Javaid Ahmad Parray, Rafiq Ahmad Bhat, Tahir Yousuf Lone, Imran Nazir, and Javaid Ahmad Khanday- all are residents of Khrew were arrested on the basis of incriminating materials that were recovered.
He continued that “Huge quantity of incriminating material was recovered from this terror module, including gelatine sticks, detonators, materials for making IEDs and grenades. All the incriminating material has been taken in case records to prove their complicity in other terror crimes.”
