Today morning, the security forces in an encounter killed two terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag this. During the encounter, an Army soldier was also killed. According to the police, one more terrorist is believed to be still hiding inside a building in the area. It is being suspected that the terrorists belong to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
The security forces received information that some terrorists could be hiding in the area, after which the forces launched a search operation. The operation soon turned into an encounter after the terrorists started firing targeting the Army personnel. Sources said that the encounter is going on.
The encounter comes a few months after an Army vehicle was targeted by a suicide bomber who was a terrorist of the JeM. The deadly attack killed 40 CRPF personnel in February. Six soldiers and two civilians were injured in the attack on Monday.
An Army Major Ketan Sharma was killed and three soldiers were injured on Monday, in another encounter with terrorists in Anantnag. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Army chief General Bipin Rawat will pay tribute to Major Ketan Sharma.
