Today, former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram has moved to the Delhi High Court, asking for interim bail on health grounds, accused in the INX Media Scam.
The application was issued before a bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar by senior advocate Kapil Sibal, who sought for the urgent listing of the issue.
The petition for interim relief has been moved by P Chidambaram in his main bail application in the INX Media Money Laundering Case.
Today, he will be produced before a trial court on his expiry of his judicial custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering scam.
On August 21, P Chidambaram was detained by the CBI, accused of the INX Media Corruption Case.
The case was lodged on 15th May 2017, reported irregularities in an FIPB (Foreign Investment Promotion Board) clearance to the INX Media Group for obtaining overseas funds of Rs. 305 crore in 2017 during P Chidambaram’s regime as the Finance Minister of India.
