On Wednesday, former Governor of Uttarakhand, Sudershan Agarwal has died after prolonged illness at a hospital in Delhi, reports an official statement. Mr. Agarwal died at the age of 88-year-old.

He has also served as the second Governor of Uttarakhand between 2003 and 2007, during which Mr. Agarwal has also established Him Jyoti School in Sahastradhara. Sudershan Agarwal had also been the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha.

Governor Baby Rani Maurya has expressed sorrow at the news of his death and prayed peace of his soul, informs a statement by Raj Bhavan. Mr. Agarwal was an efficient administrator and also a social worker, said Ms. Maurya.
