On Friday, a sudden fire broke out in the rear power car of the Chandigarh-Kochuvalli Express as it was about to depart from the New Delhi Railway Station’s eight number platform at 1:40 PM. 

Twelve fire engines were consigned to deal with the rising flame, which led to the isolation of the train and the removal of people on board the train and nearby.

No injuries or casualties have been reported till date. According to sources, the fire has been extinguished.
