On Tuesday, a major fire broke out at a cloth godown in Gandhi Nagar Market, North-East Delhi. 

The devastating fire broke out early in the morning at 7:47 AM, spread over two buildings, which comprises of six big shops. Twenty-one fire engines were immediately called at the spot to douse the flame. 

At present, the flame has been brought under control, report an official. 

However, no casualties or dead were yet reported, and goods worth more than lakhs were destroyed into burning flames. 

The official was quoted saying, “Nobody was present in the buildings as the blaze broke out in the morning.”

An investigation is on to confirm the cause of the sudden fire break down. 

Gandhi Nagar Market in situated in Delhi’s Shahdara Area, which is considered as one of the largest textile market in Asia. It is also believed that the market area has a football of 10000 to 20000 people each day.
