40-years old man, who is accused of throwing chilli powder at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had broken glass panel at a reception area of Delhi Secretariat months ago as he failed to get an audience with the Delhi CM, reports Delhi Police.

Anil Sharma, the convict was arrested on Tuesday and was jointly interrogated by the local police, Intelligence Bureau and Special Cell.

During the time of interrogation, he claims that he had tried to meet CM Kejriwal one-and-half year ago but could not meet him, so he broke glass panes in the reception area of Delhi Secretariat.

Delhi Police reports that they will verify his claims and further investigate the matter.

The convict claims to be married and has a daughter but his wife stays at her parents’ house in Haridwar.

After interrogations, Police reports that the attacker is graduated from Meerut University and was employed on a contractual basis in a Gurgaon company and his salary is Rs. 14,000 per month. He also told to Police that he was earlier addicted to ganja but now has quit in-taking of drugs.
