On Friday, Aam Aadmi Party has written a letter to the ECI (Election Commission of India), claims that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has violated the Model Code of Conduct during his interview with a TV news channel.

In the written letter, AAP alleged PM Modi has spoken of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was detained by Pak Army while he has shot down Pak’s F16 fighter jet, during an interview.

AAP further said that PM Modi has mentioned the name of IAF Pilot for political gains, which according to ECI is considered as violated of the Model Code of Conduct.

The letter reads that the ECI has issued an advisory in which it has directed the leaders of all political parties to not make any reference of Armed Forces during the forthcoming election campaign.

AAP also claims that PM Modi’s interview was seen by voters across the country and BJP’s official Twitter handle has circulated it in order to seek political advantage.

The AAP has further urged the ECI to take cognizance of the violation of Model Code of Conduct by the Prime Minister and take necessary actions against him as per laws.
