The arrest of the accused from Bhopal has created a major controversy with the state police. The state police have complained that they had no information about the Delhi Police’s operation.
The state police have strongly opposed Amulya Patnaik, Delhi Police Commissioner for the clandestine arrest and they also claimed that the act is also against the Supreme Court directives.
Madhya Pradesh Police claimed that a few unknown people arrived at Mr. Mishra’s house in Bhopal’s Rajeev Nagar around 8:30 pm and snatched him in a waiting vehicle. After an investigation, it was revealed that he had been arrested by Praveen Kumar, Inspector of the Cyber Crime Unit (Special Cell), Delhi Police.
The Madhya Pradesh Home Department, in its letter to Mr. Patnaik, said an investigation should be launched into the police operation. The state police called it an “inappropriate act”.
