Ex-Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari will be contesting from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha Constituency in BJP tickets. BJP has decided not to field outgoing MP K Haribabu from Visakhapatnam.

Daggubati Purandeswari is the daughter of TDP (Telugu Desam Party) founder and ex-Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao. Earlier, Ms. Purandeswari was elected as a Congress candidate from Vishakhapatnam in 2009.

On Thursday, the centre-ruling BJP has announced candidates for 2 Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh in its first list of candidates.

BJP’s state unit Chief Kanna Lakshminarayana was also named as the candidate for Narasaraopet seat.
