Today morning, six children and the bus driver of their school bus died after the vehicle falls into a gorge in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, reports officials.

The private school bus was transporting the school children to the DAV Public School in the Sirmaur district’s Sangarh town when the accident took place as it skidded off the road. The place is located around 150 km from Shimla, Himachal’s capital.

More than 12 children traveling on the school bus were severely injured and have been hospitalized. A Policeman reports that the situation of some of them is critical.

Eyewitnesses informed that the rescue officials were facing some difficulties in pulling out the bodies from the badly-mangled school bus, reports source.

The police department said that it appeared that the accident took place due to the bus driver’s negligence, identified as 40-years-old Ram Swaroop.

The school students who died on the spot were identified as 14-years-old Kartik, 7-years-old Adarsh, and 5-years-old Samir. Abhisekh, his sister Naitik Chauhan, and Sanjana Chauhan died after they were lifted to a hospital.

10 of the 12 injured students were identified as Anjali, Sandhaya, Aayush, Rajiv, Dhruv, Rakshita, Mannat, Aarushi, Vaishnavi, and Sunder Singh, reports source.
