Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on Sunday afternoon. The 34-year-old actor was found hanging at his Bandra residence in Mumbai. The Mumbai police is investigating the case as a case of suicide. Sushant’s death comes a week after his former manager Disha Salian committed suicide. As per sources, he was going through depression for the last few months and was taking medicines.
According to Mumbai police, the actor had spoken to his sister on the telephone around 9 am on Sunday. One hour later, he had a glass of juice and took his tablets. Around 11:30 am, the cook knocked several times on his door and after she didn’t get any response, called a key-maker who helped to open the door. The friends then informed his sister and the police.
The whole nation along with the Bollywood industry became shocked with the news. Former industry colleagues, to friends and fans started posting his pictures with the late actor. Director Anurag Kashyap tweeted, “Wtf ..this is not true.”
Akshay Kumar wrote, “Honestly this news has left me shocked and speechless…I remember watching #SushantSinghRajput in Chhichhore and telling my friend Sajid, its producer how much I’d enjoyed the film and wish I’d been a part of it. Such a talented actor…may God give strength to his family.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also mourned the death of the young star. The Patna-born Rajput became an instant hit with his good looks and first appeared on Zee TV’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’ in 2009. His excellent talent and charms gave him a break on the big screen in 2014 when he made his bollywood debut with Kai Po Che.
Later he starred in films such as PK, Kedarnath Shuddh Desi Romance, MS Dhoni: The Untold Journey and many more. He won the hearts of millions with his role in MS Dhoni which was the most successful film of his career. In 2015, he received critical acclaim for his role in Dibakar Banerjee’s movie Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. Sushanr was last seen on the big screen in 2019 film Chhichhore.
