69-years-old filmmaker Rakesh Roshan was diagnosed with “squamous cell carcinoma of the throat” (throat cancer) and will undergo surgery on Tuesday for the same. Today, his popular Bollywood actor son, Hrithik Roshan has shared in an Instagram post of his father. In the post, the actor added that his father would not “miss gym even on surgery day” and that he was in “full spirit”. Hrithik’s Instagrammed a picture of himself with his father and wrote: “Asked my dad for a picture this morning… Knew he wouldn’t miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family, we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him.”

In 1970, Rakesh Roshan has started his career as an actor in the movie Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani and followed the trends in films like Buniyaad, Khoobsurat, Kaamchor, and Bhagwan Dada among others. Mr. Roshan made his debut as a film director in 1987 with film Khudgarz. He further directed films like Khoon Bhari Maang, King Uncle, Koyala and Karan Arjun.

In 2000, Rakesh Roshan has introduced his son Hrithik Roshan in the Bollywood film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and again collaborated on Koi… Mil Gaya and the Krrish series. Senior Roshan’s last produced film Kaabil starred Hrithik Roshan and the next project Krrish 4 again with his very talented son.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan is looking forward to starred on Super 30, the film is based on the true life of a mathematician Anand Kumar.
