Jennifer Garner is prepping for a comeback to television with an upcoming series titled ‘Camping’. The show is written by Jenni Konner and Lena Dunham and will be based on the UK show with the same name.
The show will have eight episodes and will be telecast on HBO. It is about a group of friends who gather to join the celebrations of Kathryn’s husband, Walt’s birthday over a weekend but things quickly go haywire when it turns into a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime. Jennifer will star in the role of Kathryn Siddell-Bauers, which has been described as “messy, tough and provocative and really really fun”.
Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner are also the executive producers of the show and will be producing it under their banner A Casual Romance.
On Jennifer Garner, Lena and Jenni added, “We love Jennifer’s restraint and comedic timing, and we can’t wait for the warmth and intelligence she’ll bring to our central character, Kathryn. It’s truly a dream to have her first on our call sheet. Now we just have to write her some stunts.”
This is not the first time Konner and Dunham have come together for a project. Before Camping, the duo had collaborated for a comedy show on HBO that ended last year. The series, called Girls had six seasons and was nominated for nineteen primetime Emmy Awards throughout all its seasons.
Jennifer Garner is making a comeback to the small screen after a decade and has previously worked in JJ Abrams’s drama Alias on the ABC network, where she portrayed the role of a CIA agent Sydney Bristow. The performance earned her four Emmy nominations. She is famous for her films like Dallas Byers Club and Elektra.
