Accused of sexual misconduct, Ali Zafar has the support of Bollywood now - TNBCLive

The Harvey Weinstein syndrome that took the American Entertainment Industry by storm in the last year has reached the Asian shores with the Pakistani singer, Meesha Shafi accusing fellow-musician Ali Zafar of sexual misconduct. It’s about time that the sexual offenders and pedophiles of Bollywood are to be exposed.
As far as the accused singer is concerned, Bollywood, where he has worked in some movies here, has extended their support to him. One of the top Bollywood leading actresses with whom Ali has worked gave him a clean chit. “He impeccably behaved. There was never a whiff of any untoward behavior. He was punctual, professional, polite, almost aloof. Never tried to act familiar. But then that’s my experience. The narrative might be completely different in another continent.”
Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi was the last Bollywood movie where Ali Zafar had worked. Everyone who had worked in that film has asserted Ali’s professionalism and decency.
Across the border, it’s a different story for Ali. Meesha Shafi’s accusations are serious. His colleagues from the Pakistan entertainment industry were contacted. Most of them tried to remain silent except an actor on the condition that the identity should be kept secret. “Main kya bolu? He’s a well-behaved cultured boy. And seems happily married with two children. These (allegations) will definitely affect his popularity. Hopefully, it won’t damage his family life.”
Seems the #MeToo movement started in Pakistan. If it is so then how long will it take for the actresses to point out the sexual predators of Bollywood?
