A SpiceJet plane got stuck on the runway at Mumbai International Airport since July 2, was finally rescued on runway surface on last night.

On Tuesday, the flight overshot the main runway during the time of landing, due to heavy rain it suddenly got stuck at the end of it. All on-board passengers of the SpiceJet flight were deported on Jaipur-Mumbai Route and reported to be out of danger.

A spokesman of Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) said that “the disabled SpiceJet aircraft, which was stuck in Runway-27 RESA has been pulled out on Runway surface at 11:10 pm yesterday.”

Officials tried hard to pull out the flight to operationalize the main runway which got shut after SpiceJet SG 6237 skidded off.

After the incident, several flights were diverted or cancelled to nearby airports and an alternative runway was put into operation at Mumbai International Airport.
