Today, Volkswagen Passenger Car has launched T-Roc in India, with prices starting at Rs 19.99 lakhs. The newly launched T-Roc is its second launch after the Tiguan Allspace. It is part of the brand’s new product offensive. The model will be available in six different colour options and comes in a single fully loaded variant.
Most importantly, it also comes with a 5-star safety rating, given by the European New Car Assessment Programme for adult and child occupants, said the company. T-Roc can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 8.4 seconds and has a highest speed of 205 kmph. The car measures 4229 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2595 mm, which is a good cabin space.
The new Volkswagen T-Roc is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5 litre TSI petrol engine that produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. The engine is connected with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. It is likely to give a tough fight to Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
Some of the interesting features of the model include, panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, automatic climate control, LED tail lights, push-button start, keyless entry, dual-tone alloy wheels, reverse parking camera, leather upholstery, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), six airbags, xx inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, anti lock braking system (ABS), and electronic stability control (ESC).
Volkswagen India had opened booking in February 2020, when it was first introduced ahead of the Auto Expo 2020. It is likely to say there will be a limited number of units up for grabs. As per company sources, it has already received more than 300 bookings for the latest model.
