Volkswagen has to recall over 700,000 Touran and Tiguan cars globally because of possible lighting defects, on Monday reports German trade magazine Kfz-Betrieb.

Kfz-Betrieb reports that humidity can lead to a short circuit at the cars’ panoramic roof lightning strip. Short circuit in the LED-module can also cause scorching damage on the roof of the variant and may also set the car on fire by referring to Volkswagen Spokesperson the German trade magazine expressed their viewpoints.

In Germany over 52,500 Volkswagen variants are affected.

Volkswagen is currently looking for the solution to fix the damage as soon as possible, quoting the company’s spokesperson the magazine added.

However, Volkswagen was not made available immediately for comments.
